History
The glass mould production in Brno dates back to 1924 when Mr. Herman Kiko – Viena´s glass machines and moulds producer of that time established his branch office in Rybářská street in Brno.
First not only the glass moulds were produced there, but also presses and glass producers hand tools such as glass shears, blowpipes, etc. Even now, you can find presses with H. KIKO BRNO logo in some glass works. After the confiscation by communists in 1948 the company was incorporated in the Sklostroj Turnov company. The branch office had about 40 to 50 employees at that time.
Based on the increasing demand of the glass works the branch office specialised in pattern and shape glass moulds for both hand and automatic production. Because there were no other glass moulds producers in Czechoslovakia of that time the demand for our glass moulds was always high. The production took place on universal machine tools, the pattern in the glass moulds was handcut by the gravers.
In 1993 the branch office was privatised by the contemporary factory owner Brnoform Ltd.
